Automotive Ethernet 100M/1000M ESD domestic device protection scheme
With the digitalization of automobiles and the demand for automatic driving systems, the traditional CAN and LIN automotive communication protocols can no longer meet the signal transmission data requirements of automobiles. Ethernet is one of the ideal improvement solutions; it can also be used in domain Control ( Domain Control ) and block control ( Zonal Control ).
The advantage of Ethernet is that it can support different connection methods:
1. Directly connected to the car's central control computer, wireless network, ECU , sensors
2. Connect the car's central control computer, wireless network, ECU and then connect the sensor with CAN/LIN
The information sources of the automatic driving system are radar, lidar, high-definition camera, etc. The data transmission volume and system response speed requirements are relatively high. Usually, the backbone network requires 10GB , and the branch network requires 100MB ~ 1GB . Traditional CAN/LIN is difficult to meet Demand, a new type of automotive Ethernet came into being. However, for Ethernet applications in the new application environment of vehicles, we need to solve potential problems in harsh application environments such as high vibration, high temperature, high humidity, high pollution, high impact, and high electromagnetic interference (EMI) . It can be seen from the above scheme that two ESD devices need to be placed on the vehicle Ethernet bus. The ESD provided by Lei Mao adopts a silicon-based process and has several advantages over alternative ESD protection solutions such as varistors. They are more reliable, and the improved 3pF (max) diode capacitance ensures higher signal integrity.
